It’s been a while since I’ve done a post of my favorite posts around the web – so no time like the present, right?
However, allow me to start out this post with some exciting news on the blog front! Two of my sweetest and dearest friend have recently started their very own blogs, and I couldn’t be more excited. One lives 3 states away…where the other lives {basically} 3 blocks away. I’m so excited to keep up with these two on their new blog journey! They are pretty cool chicks with something in common; they both had a tall, slightly immature and incredibly goofy chick in both of their weddings. No I’m not talking about Brooke Shields, it’s me silly willy! Okay, anyway – check them out! Now! NOW. Why are you still reading this? Click below!

Anyhoodle. Favorite posts from around the web startingggg NOW:
{ 1 } I was first introduced to this sweet girl via Instagram, and it’s pretty safe to say I’ve established quite the online crush on her! And I really do mean that in the least creepy way possible. Her motivation is 200% contagious and I admire her dedication to not just her workouts, but blogging every day, her school work, healthy eating, relationships etc. I’m really excited to keep reading her blog day after day to see where I can apply some of her philosophies to my day to day life. This post of hers reallllly stuck out to me, and in fact I’ve read it a few times over since her posting it.

Reading just this small paragraph gives me chills:
Make a decision that you're going to be happy one way or another—no matter what. "No matter what, I'm going to be happy! If I have to ignore everybody; if I have to never watch television again; if I have to never pick up a newspaper again, I'm going to be happy. If I never have to see that person's face again, I'm going to be happy. If I have to see that person's face, I'm going to find something to see in that person's face that makes me happy. I'm going to be happy. I'm going to be happy. I'm going to be happy."
I hope you enjoy her blog, but most specifically that post as much as I do!
{ 2 } Check this; Casey and her kids just radiate happiness and the sweet family bond that I someday hope to have. Though this post is light on words, the pictures remind me 200% of being a kid and celebrating the new year with my parents and sister!
Love it.

{ 3 } The words in this post completely stopped me dead in my tracks. Confession: if a post is longer than a few paragraphs, I rarely read it. However, this one I’ve read over, and over, and over again. I hope you do, too. : )

I think that is the perfect post to ring in the New Year. In my opinion it outlines everything matters in life!
{ 3.5 } Since we are on her blog – let me talk about a second post of hers. I’ve read this before over the years, but I don’t think it’s something you can read too many times!

{ 4 } I’m seriously considering designing and printing out the red words in this; posted from one of my high school besties, Brandy!

Sleep when tired. How simple is that?!
{ 5 } This post speaks for itself through and through. No commentary necessary.

{ 6 } I know there is another one out there I just can’t remember which blog it belongs to. Gosh – almost as if I follow 100+ blogs or something. ::guilty::
What blogs, posts or quotes are you loving lately? I’d love to hear about them!

Whiskers on kittens.
I laid down to go to sleep tonight, and randomly found myself scrolling through all the pix I took from this weekend. To say this weekend falls under "A few of my favorite things" as the blog title eludes to is the understatement of the year. And that's not just because we are only 2 days into the year, either. I wanted to post a few of my favorite pix, but then I realized "few" here means probably 12-15. Enjoy the pix now, and stories later.
ps:: If 2012 is anything like the last 2 days of 2011 and the first 2 days of 2012 - I need to buckle in, because in in for the ride of my life. Fo realz, yo.

Not the same as a dream...
but still funny:
An IM from my girlfriend Amy from work:
What are you doing now? I seriously woke up singing "climb every mountain" in my dream this morning. I instantly thought of you. What a great way to start the day!!

The Nerve.
Can you believe this? I ordered sushi delivery last night…and the dude delivering it has the audacity to come inside and eat it with me. Not just that – but he also brought a bottle of wine and started playing with Forks like he ran the place.

Buttttt. He was pretty cute so I let him stay. The best part is I didn't even ask for the sushi but BAM he showed up on my doorstep with it! Score one for Beth.
It’s a good thing you can’t see too clearly the letters I drew on our wine glasses. Hunter’s H turned out fine…but my B looked like a dyslexic 3 year old wrote it. No offense if any dyslexic 3 year olds are reading this – but a 26 year old Graphic Designer should do better than what Hunter explained as “it kiiiinda looks like a dollar sign”.
Enough talk about my chalkboard skillz.
What’s everyone doing for the New Year?! We are taking off just as quickly as I can get out of work and escaping to Steamboat for the weekend! Steamboat is where he grew up, so I’m excited to check out all his favorite hot spots. His dad will still be there tonight when we get in, so we’ll get to grab dinner with him. We’ll be skiing a lot of Saturday and Sunday, and there is a strong possibility that we will go sledding. Hunter has been begging me to go sledding with him for like 2 months now, so I’m finally giving in. (That’s not true. I’ve been doing the begging, it’s just easier to push off the obsession with the hobby of said 3 year old on him.) We plan on cooking some yummy dinners, enjoying the hot tub and watching the Broncos game! OH! I TOTALLY FORGOT THE BEST PART! My sweet friends Heather and Tom who live up in Fort Collins are magically and randomly going to be in Steamboat this weekend, too! I screamed and possibly peed a little bit when I heard that (No peeing happened. Strictly screaming. I promise.) – I have been wanting to get together with these two for weeks now because I just know Tom and Hunter will get along like peas and carrots. Every hobby Hunter has…Tom has. Well maybe not EVERY hobby, but the cool ones: Beer brewing, skiing, biking, hiking. And hanging out with supa cool chicks. Right, Heather?
Can you tell I’ve had about 3x my limit of coffee this morning? I’m rambling.
Happy 2012 fun friends!

British basketball.
I’ve had two pretty similar emails from two friends of two different walks of life lately – they both make me smile from ear to ear!
My dearest friend Alexis who just moved from Fargo to Wheaton, MN!:
I’ve been having super weird dreams lately and I had one about your last night. I was flying to Denver super last min and I was struggling to find tickets to come to your wedding. It was a very very odd series of events. We all met at this bar where we played basketball on a basketball court.
If I flew out of Fargo I would spend $247 on tickets and if I flew out of the cities I would spend $227 on tickets. It was a huge debate on which city to fly out of, but the funny part is I don’t remember which one I chose or actually being on the plane. I was just all of a sudden there at the table at the bar getting ready to play basketball.
Super strange!!!
And my sweet friend Lesli who lives in Ft. Collins:
I just wanted to let you know that I had a dream you were in last night. We were driving around in this really fun car that you had to stand in and stick your head out the top. You were driving and for some reason had a British accent. We were driving all over this grassy area and having fun. That’s it… :)

Chills.
Do as little harm to others as you can; make any sacrifice for your true friends; be responsible for yourself and ask nothing of others; and grab all the fun you can. Don’t give much thought to yesterday, don’t worry about tomorrow, live in the moment, and trust that your existence has meaning even when the world seems to be all blind chance and chaos. When life lands a hammer blow in your face, do your best to respond to the hammer as if it had been a cream pie. Sometimes black humor is the only kind we can summon, but even dark laughter can sustain.

Raindrops on roses...
A few of my favorite things as of late:
My mom's smile. My heart is always so full when I get to spend time with her!

A purring kitty in a Santa hat. Enough said.

A sweet sweat workout when my head and body both match up to push through.

A new manicure! Glitzy and glam for the new year.

Christmas gifts that come in the mail from my favorite Eric! <3

Family time. Family laughs. Family memories. I'm so blessed!

Fruit plates as an afternoon snack. Done and done.

His and her Whole Foods salads. I can't believe I've found someone who loves veggies MORE than I do.

I'm addicted to these guys! Fresh from CA.

Redonkously silly roommates. Always smiling those two.
