Slow it down, Summerfield.

There is a strong chance I'm going to a Royal Wedding Party tonight at ahem ahem midnight ahem ahem ahem and need to kill time.  Yes midnight, yes this party has been planned for nearly 6 months, and yes there will be loads of food, and loads of booze.  Deal'wit it.  So I figured it was high time to slow it down, quit posting blog posts from my phone while hiding behind pretty pictures, and actually post something of substance.

Lately, it's very rare that I write a post from a computer, because work has Blogger blocked.  Which if you ask me, is like the dumbest thing.  What do they think?  I would sit at work and blog all day long?  I would.  So instead I sit on my phone and blog all day long.  HA!  Sucka's.  Joke's on you!  And for anyone who cares, they also have Facebook blocked, and when the IT Manager left, we printed AND framed the dumb we've-blocked-you-from-any-social-med-except-Twitter-aka-all-sources-of-fun screen and got all of Production to sign it.  IT - 0, Production - 1.  (That's a total lie, reverse it.  IT always wins.  Except in Halloween costumes.......then Production ALWAYS wins.)  Anyway, I have some time to kill tonight, and I've cleaned the kitchen as much as possible, I'm sick of the boob-tube (mostly because Casey just got voted off American Idol and I'm bitter and retaliating), so I plopped down with my steamed artichoke, scotch on the rocks (Why?  I'll get to that in a second), and am listening to Keri Noble on repeat.  I love this song.  Every single second, word and breath of it reminds me of my sister.  Not just because we'd listen to the entire album on repeat when we'd drive from Fargo to Dickinson back in our college days, or because my very first concert was seeing Keri Noble with my Katie, but the words hit painfully close to home.  No need to get serious and emotional (there will be enough of that when I explain the scotch on the rocks) but in the words of Keri, let's just say my sun has definitely lost a bit of it's light.

Anyhoodle.

Scotch on the rocks = we lost our Grandma Krebs this morning.
Christmas 2004
Though I call her Grandma Krebs, technically she was my Grandma-in-law.  Or, my cousins other grandma.  Or my uncle's wife's mom.  Whatever you call it, she was, always has been and always will be my Grandma Krebs.  Growing up, I thought I was the luckiest girl alive because I truly believed that I had three grandmas.  I loved her hands, I loved her smile, I loved her stories (though towards the end, some of the stories were a littttttttle far fetched, but it's okay because who doesn't like an embellished story or two to keep the crowds interested?), I loved how without fail, she always gave us marshmallow chocolate eggs when we would go sit at her house and chat around Easter time.  After getting the news this morning, we were all really distraught, but as cliche as it sounds, she really is in a better place.  Adam and I decided she's up chilling with Miss Morgan, her husband Grant whom she lost at an early age from a plane accident, and my grandpa Joseph.  I was able to talk to my Grandma Kolling, cousins Adam and Joey (Joey is the bald one, and Adam has his goofy back to the camera) and aunty Dawn tonight, which the laughs we shared made my heart smile for sure.

Enough Serious Sally for one night?  I think so, too.  I hate to end this, because after searching through my iPhoto for that photo of Grandma Krebs I found some golden pictures I'd love to share, but this girl has to get a quick snooze in before my midnight arrival at Rebecca's house.  I'll save those pictures for next time when I decide to put my d@mn phone down and write a post like any normal human being.

Cheers my dear friends!

Hi, my name is Beth.

And I'm addicted to buying fruits and veggies....and making them look pretty.

Yes, these were all bought in one trip to the grocery. Yes, I laughed - hard - when I realized I had the rainbow in my Sunflower bags via fruits/veggies. And yes, I had multiple options for over half of the colors.

CamWow.

*Too funny not to post, but too embarrassing to show the whole picture.

CamWow. Find friends with the iPhone and entertain yourself for hours.

*It may have been funnier at 7am when these texts were being sent....but they STILL make me laugh.

Do it. I dare you!

Have an unplugged night in!

Keep the TV off, close the computer, and phone on silent. It's amazing how liberating you will feel! Now I may have cheated a tish because after I ate, I did do a little work, then of course took these photos - but I had like a 80% unplugged night. But if I had an 100% unplugged night, I wouldn't be able to share photos about it and how would that make you feel?

Ahhhh....

James and I grabbed lunch at Masterpiece this afternoon!

We were able to enjoy our sandwiches outside, and shared their braised beef brisket sandwich, and white truffle egg salad - I wanted to snap a pix of them, but not surprising, they didn't last too long on our plates! After venting about work, we giggled and dreamed up new wedding plans for her and Ryan. It was the perfect lunch date! We ended the lunch with a few cappuccinos. Yummy in my tummy.

Don't stop, get it get it.

Mary and I enjoyed an awesome night of an intense tennis match (not-so-intense and balls flying e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e), a yummy homemade dinner and caught up on one of our favorite TV shows
Teen Mom 2
! But the real fun didn't start until Mary was, yet, again, blown away by the camera on my phone. "It goes so fast! Beth. It takes pictures SO fast." Exhibits 1-4 below.

You just wait. It gets better.

Ever since that fateful day back in November, Mary has taken a....let's say, liking to rap music. I'm often woken up with a text at 6am with her quoting the latest rap song that appeared on her Pandora during her morning run. I won't quote them here...just google "rap songs", and I promise you she listens to it. Anyhoodle, we ended the evening by watching, and trying our hardest to impersonate, Mary's latest online crush, Keenan. And yes, she called 50 Cent "soooo sweet!" earlier today. And I promise you, after you watch this video , you will agree. And though the video is somewhat creepy, this little guy does hold a special place in my heart. Back in October, I was back in ND to be in one of my best friends from High School's wedding, the night before (morning of) her wedding, at about 2am, Shaneille was so gitty and her usual amazingly silly self, she was pulling him up on her phone and laughing to this video . When most brides are mid-panic attack...we were up in bed, giggling and watching ridiculous videos.

So there you have it!...Now, don't stop, get it get it...

Define productivity...

Had you asked me last night what my Saturday plans were, I'd have told you "Yoga at 8:30a with Jaime and Ryan, a spa appt then hiking with my aunt!", but that quickly changed to "Coffee and a movie in bed, spa appt, then manicure/sushi/shopping with Mary followed by cooking, chick flicks, cleaning and red wine and more chick flicks."

For what it's worth, I was in my gym shoes, shorts and shirt all day as if I was on my way/just left the gym.

It's worth something, right? .25? A dolla holla? Yeah....I didn't think so.

When in doubt...Caribou.

After an excruciatingly painful day of work yesterday, I was having quite the pity party. On my drive to work I made a deal with myself that if there was street parking outside of the Caribou Coffee on my way to work....I'd stop.

Lo and behold....a spot was open!

After laughing to tears with the barista when he got my name confused with the that of an illicit drug and I took comfort knowing other people in the world were as ready for the weekend as I was.

Then I really laughed at myself after I got to work and saw the other travel mugs on my desk from this week.

The brown mug I've had for about 7 years now and it's by far my favorite.

Happy Friday to me!

I love you, you little brat you.

The opening of this post is going to be awfully reminiscent of the time I blogged about coffee cups two days in a row. Blah blah, never would have predicted, blah blah work windows, blah, blog two days in a row, blah.

Our new offices are directly caddy-corner (Yes, I've officially made the switch from kitty to caddy-corner. You've read it here first, folks.) from where the Colorado Rockies play, Coors Field. This presents a world full of opportunity which includes, but are not limited to:
Free amazing parking to any and all games.
Using unused client tickets to day games for an hour over your lunch break during day games.
Really, really fun team building events.
Last minute evening plans for unused client tickets.

However. The number 1 and most important and amazing perk of our office location?

It's okay if you are confused. But what I'm trying to show you here is the hot dog stand you see in the reflection of poor IceHouse Loft person's windows.

Okay fine, quit complaining. Here is a better shot. Look on the corner.

I firmly believe this man's only reason in life is to cook with love and CO air, brats and hot dogs for my office.

Side note: Who was the mastermind behind naming/spelling brats? If they were going to double word something it should have been named after a unicorn or tulip or something. Not some misbehaved child. Anyhoodle.

Today is the first day game of the season, hence the long winded, slightly pointless blog post. I present to you....my first unicorn of the season!!!!! (That didn't work, did it?)

I am busier than busy this week, so Alex offered to go down and get it for me so I could keep working. He did really good on my request for an obnoxious amount of kraut, but I prefer slightly tons more mustard. Kinda like this!

Photo from a game last year with my girls!

And another little gem for your viewing pleasure.

And this one I wouldn't call a gem...more blackmail. But Mary did remind me of the little brat who snapped this pix of me at Oktoberfest a few years ago, and I couldn't not post it because I am in fact, eating a brat.

Alright. Now I'm off to go figure out why I have so many photos of me eating hot dogs/brats.

5:46pm

It's totally normal for your first and kinda only smile of the day to take place at 5:46pm, right? I'm at work finishing up a big project for a client event in the Springs Thursday and admittedly I've been cranky all day. Until I saw this.

Across from my office window are the IceHouse Lofts. Yes, we look into peoples apartments all day long. (I'll answer the questions of what we've seen take place in our neighbors personal lives at a different date.) We've taken to writing notes on our windows for them to read because it got so obviously awkward when they'd be on their balconies looking at us, and we'd be looking straight back at them.

So here is my note to them:

"Hi!"

Creative, huh? Well I was beyond thrilled when somehow the sun and shadows reflected the message on the wall behind my desk, reading it back to me.

Kate got way more creative and colorful with hers:

RIP Pete the Pigeon.

And my personal favorite, Chuck videoing through his binoculars.

I just realized that I need to quit before you guys call the cops on us.

*Dorothy Lynch.

In the interim of the photos/stories from ND, let's talk for a second how darn cute my grandma is.

Discuss.

*Though my grandma's name is not Dorothy Lynch, it is Dorothy and up until the age of probably 7, I wholeheartedly believed they named the salad dressing after my grandmother.

Home is where the wine is.

This is the weirdest little snippet I've probably shared yet on this blog, but after sleeping one night with my aunt, 3 nights on an air mattress with my mom, 25+ hours in the car since Friday and being sick a good 48 hours of those days, I was really looking forward to coming home and unwinding before a busy work week.  That isn't the weird part.  This is: I had finally made it to my apt from my aunt's house, parked my car, was carrying all my bags down the sidewalk and suddenly heard a ambulance with their siren loud and blaring not more than 2 blocks away and do you know what the first thought in my head was?

"Ahhhhhhhh, it feels good to be home."

What about that was comforting and exciting to me?  I have no clue.  But here I sit, full glass of wine poured, windows open, listening to the traffic outside and I couldn't be happier.

I am so excited to share pictures and stories from my surprise weekend visit to North Dakota, but for now my 4 day packed DVR is calling my name...so the stories and pictures will have to wait just a little bit.

Oofta,  I'm tired.
